It will be a long weekend for the Andree-Evarts siblings as they look to make their mark at the 2016 NSW Metropolitan Swimming Championships.

Ashton, 17, Olivia, 15, and Oscar, 12, will compete in a combined 25 events over the three-day competition.

Ahead of the season’s first major long course meet, Oscar said he looks up to his older siblings’ achievements.

“I’ll target Ashton because he’s a faster person and I’ll use his previous times and bounce off them,” he said.

“Our family bounce off each others’ times to get a good result.”

The trio race for AquaBlitz Toongabbie and are trained by former Olympic open water coach Greg Towle.

Olivia is aiming for national qualifying times this weekend, eager to reach her second national titles.

“I’ve been training really hard but now I just need to put that into practice and trust in Greg’s training,” she said.

For Ashton, who is entering his HSC year at Parramatta Marist, he sees swimming as a respite from the stress of schoolwork.

“I went through a bit of a lull period with training after we lost some top swimmers I used to look up to,” he said.

“I look at it as being at square one again. It’s all about going out there, beating as many people as I can and having fun doing it.
